Doing a bit of sketching today. I've been researching Greek Mythology again and what better place to start than Diana the Huntress.
I will definitely be finishing up this one in the near future.

Mysterious Spy Girl
I dedicate my illustration of the day to Martin Powell.
This illustration I created based off of our many talks and his lovely writing. Mostly of adventures, detectives, and all-around awesome comic book heroes (or villains!). It was only a matter of time until I created a Mysterious Spy Girl. I'm not quite sure if she's naughty or nice but I'm sure she prefers that way!
Thank you, Martin, for always inspiring my imagination and work!

Here's are some close-ups of my Spy Girl.
The image started just of her face and grew into a whole pose, in which I had to keep pasting more and more sheets of paper. I really got into this one :)

Princess with Attitude- pumped up with some color!
A few months back I was doing some Fairy Tale sketches for a friend of mine, Martin Powell.
He is a constant inspiration to me and I highly recommend checking his books out!
One sketch that was particularly popular was my Princess with attitude (Original sketch below color version).
Since her attitude is so much fun and quite out of character for the everyday Princess, I decided to pump up the volume! I wanted to roughly color her up a bit with shades of pinks and reds and a touch of sparkles.

Sea Nymph Study
Here's a Sea Nymph/Mermaid study I was working on in watercolors. Not a final finished product, but thought I would show some of my experimentations with stylized water elements and perspectives.

Geek Girl Tech Support
Here's my most recent pin up.
I love personalities that are both cute and and strong, with a smart edge.
Kaylee from "Firefly" is definitely one of my all time favorite characters.
I decided to create my very own confident lady who knows how to get a
job done and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty!

Here's my take on gutsy tech chicks that are more naughty than nice!

Sketches on the road
Some rough sketches I did on the bumpy train ride this weekend... kinda messy but I dig the personalities.

Poison Ivy
After creating some water nymphs and fiery ladies, I decided to keep going with the theme "women of the elements". I decided to do earth elements for my next pin-up and the best woman I can think of to describe the seductiveness of foliage is, of course, the intoxicating Poison Ivy!
Enjoy!
But not too much, I don't have the antidote. ...or do I?

Frogs!
You may have noticed, I have quite the obsession with frogs. Love me some froggies.
Here's a quick water color I did. It's loosely based on the frogs I used to read in storybooks as a kid.
And by 'used to' I mean I 'still do' read children's storybooks. ;)
